More than a year later, the final post I said I would do

In December of 2008 I visited the Novodevichy Convent & cemetery in Moscow. It was founded in the 16th Century and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It was one of the places I wouldn't leave Russia with out seeing. It took me a year, but I got there. And now it took another year to post about it, but I just rediscovered the photos and must share them.
The headstones in the cemetery are unique... but that word doesn't accurately describe the affect at all. Only the photos will. During the Soviet Union it became one of the most high profile cemeteries in Russia, with many well-known artists, writers, military men of high ranking, astronauts, and supposedly Boris Yeltsin is buried there.

Here are some of my more interesting photos:

In case it's too hard to see, it's a tree.

I think this guy was a writer.

Haha, look closely at the photos. And then look at the man made of stone.

Creepy award.

I think that it's kind of cruel they immortalized him in this outfit.

The cemetery reminds me of this children's book: Photobucket
If you've read it, you'll understand.
